We are an Amateur theatre group based in Taunton, Somerset. Our main aim is to bring innovative, imaginative, quality theatre to the community, by producing high quality performances that are enjoyable for our audiences and group members alike.
We started in 2012 and have produced a wide range of plays and have taken them on tour to villages across Somerset West and Taunton as well as the Tacchi Morris Arts Centre in Taunton. Shows have varied from, ‘Allo ‘Allo, ‘The Vicar of Dibley’, ‘The Thrill of Love’ to ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt’. We have been fortunate to achieve several notable awards for our productions from the Somerset Fellowship of Drama, NODA and the Rose Bowl Awards. Most notable being ‘Best Drama Southwest’ for our production of Abigail’s Party.
We also aim to continually develop our knowledge and expertise by offering training to our members at workshops or offering bursaries to attend NODA Summer School.
The group is formed of a committee of 9 people and a group of Trustees who manage our Charity status, and we are always keen to welcome new members and we encourage people to join in with the driving force of the group.
Our home is Units 3 & 5 close to Taunton Railway station, and we can watch and hear the trains pass by as we meet. We use the space to hold our costumes and props as well as being a versatile and interesting space for rehearsals and club nights.
If you would like to join us, then come along to one of club nights or rehearsals and to find out when, you are welcome to contact us: at2ktheatre@gmail.com
